Is LinkedIn losing its business appeal?

Have you noticed that LinkedIn is becoming more like Twitter? More and more frequently the messages coming through border on the banal culminating in a rapid succession of updates of an individual’s daily habits and ponderings. We need to be careful as this can sometimes leave you wanting to switch off the contact much as you would with SPAM email.

So what can be done about it?

LinkedIn has become an incredibly powerful tool for building and creating a network of contacts that are or could be of relevance and influence to your business. By all means, we need to keep our hand in with updates but not to the detriment of good business practice. Is the message that you’re putting out there about building a business reputation for expertise or as an insight in your social life?
